Posted on April 3, 2024April 14, 2024 by jim

On Friday, July 11, 1924, Cranston’s hook & ladder truck  was responding to an alarm when it was involved in an accident at the intersection of Park Ave. and Cranston St. in Knightsville.  There were no serious injuries, but the truck sustained considerable damage.  The truck was repaired and placed back in service.  This truck was the city’s first motorized hook & ladder truck and went into service on December 1, 1923.
